Last year we took a trip to Washington and explored Mount Ranier National Park. We got their bright and early and when we stopped to hike this trail, there wasn’t another person in sight. A thick fog surrounded everything and there was this incredibly dense silence except for the trickle of a stream and the buzzing of small insects. The dew sparkled on the flowers and the trees were sleeping giants. We couldn’t see it yet but the magnificent peak was hiding behind the thick fog beyond this rolling hill.
